Leashes: All dogs must be brought in and out of the Resort on a leash when arriving or departing.  The safety of our Fur Kids and their parents is our utmost concern.

Vaccination Policy

Vet Records Can be emailed by your Vet to info@PatioGatePetResort or bring a copy with you

Required Vaccinations:  Please provide the following Veterinarian documentation at least 24 hours prior to arriving at PatioGate Pet Resort.  You can bring a copy from your Vet or have your Vet email us direct.  Whatever is easiest for you.

  • Rabies (RV)  1 year or 3 year, based on specific documentation by veterinarian

  • Distemper & Parvo (DHLPP or DAPP)  1 year after initial puppy series.  3 years followup

  • Bortadella or Canine Cough (BV)  Once a year

  • Although all pets are required to have an up-to-date Bordetella vaccination, he/she is still at risk of acquiring Canine Cough. There is no vaccine for complete protection against Canine Cough. They can be vaccinated for 3 of the 13 known components of this complex disease. By vaccinating for these 3 diseases about 90% of the cases of Canine Cough are eliminated. However, it is possible for a vaccinated dog to get Canine Cough. We do recommend you get the Bordetella vaccination at least 48 hours before checking in. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CANINE INFLUENZA VACCINE. PLEASE TALK TO YOUR VET ABOUT THIS VACCINE.

Health:  All dogs must be in good health. Owners will certify their dog(s) are in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days. Upon admission, all dogs must be free from any condition which could potentially jeopardize other pets. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days will require veterinarian certification of health to be admitted or readmitted.

Elderly & Special Needs Fur Kids are welcome and we will give them the best care they need and we can provide.  Because we aren't a high volume kennel we can provide a safe haven for them.  We understand how difficult it can be to find a place for them to stay comfortably and safely.  We have a special outdoor park, a Bailey chair because we have had a Mega baby ourselves, and giving meds are never a problem.  Loving care is our passion.

There is no Extra Charge for Medications All medication needs to be in a clearly marked container (preferably the original container) with the following information: Dog’s Name, Name of Medication and Strength, Dosage per day or as needed (let us know at check-in what doses your pet needs that day).

Temperament Evaluation

Your dog(s) must complete a Temperament Test so we have an understanding of the dynamics of their personality to ensure that your dog is a good fit with the right play group. Temperament tests MUST be scheduled with us in advance - please call ahead to schedule a time convenient to your schedule (713-364-4763). Most dogs complete their evaluation within an hour. Please be aware that the length of each evaluation varies according to your dog's specific needs to ensure a safe and positive introduction to his play group.

Please note that we MUST have proof of current vaccinations in order to conduct the temperament test with your dog.

New clients who have successfully completed their evaluation should complete, if possible, at least one  day of Day Care with us prior to boarding to introduce familiarity with our surroundings. It will make boarding your pet less stressful for them.

PLAY TIME:  Owners understand that supervised off-leash socialization and interaction between our guests is what we do. Owners understand that our guests are provided approximately 5-7 hours of play time in our large fenced play yards allowing them to romp, run, play, and sleep at their leisure.  Owners also acknowledge that dogs are unpredictable in behavior, are aware of the risks involved in such play, and assume all risks. Accidents can happen from time to time and could include a cut paw or a scraped leg from free play with other dogs. Also with our natural outdoor areas, dogs get to be dogs and could possibly hurt themselves. Owner must understand that our environment is very different from life at home. 5 hours of free time is generally VERY different from life at home. They will run and play hard, scrape their paws, pick-up sticks, chew on twigs, grass, you name it!
